The main priority for the department of head and neck tumors is the development of minimally invasive and high-tech methods of treatment for benign and malignant tumors which ensures the high quality of medical care with a minimum amount of surgical trauma.
The provision of surgical care based on the latest achievements of medicine allows to perform surgical interventions with a small amount of tissue damage and minimal blood loss, which significantly reduces the likelihood of relapse, reduces the length of stay and allows to conduct medical rehabilitation for the shortest period of time.
The department is widely engaged in surgical rehabilitation of patients after surgical interventions. Original Russian and foreign methods of plastic and reconstructive operations using microsurgical technologies are used.
The work is carried out in close cooperation with the polyclinic department, diagnostic departments, department of anesthesiology, department of intensive care and resuscitation, neurosurgery department, chemotherapy department, radiology and radiotherapy departments and rehabilitation department, thus ensuring continuity at all stages of treatment of a patient with oncology diseases head and neck.
The Department is a training base for students and residents of the oncology, otorhinolaryngology, and dentistry departments of Samara State Medical University.
